wrapping up and in the last one hour there were bomb sniffing dogs to make sure that there was no more explosive devices. they say that the campus is a safe area. let me show you a video earlier. the walnut creek bomb squad was called and found a pvc pipe that would never have gone up. how long it was here? it is not clear but it looks like somebo a pair of people noticed the bomb and they alerted the school officials who called police. nobody was hurt but schools, and parents are surprised on what happens. to my wife told me that the school staffers was running through the hallway with a whistle. and alerted for the students to exit the back. >> were you in scared? >> yes. >> i was shaking in day care. >> surprising?

in a remote area near the sunol pleasanton boarder on sept 17, 2011four months after she was first reported missing from a nursing program in haywardduring closing arguments the prosecution described esteban as a jealous woman whose hatred turned to ragebefore stalking and then ultimately killing lebecause she thought the nursing student was sleeping with the father of esteban's childand even though there were no witnesses to what happened to le. judge jon rolefson appeared to agree with the prosecutors argument. as he stated to the court >> "never have i seen a circumstantial evidence case that so clearly pointed to the guilt of someonethat showed no hint of remorse"words that resonated with le's sister >> "when he said that, he made a really good observationmade us feel we always felt that she felt no remorse. to see her directly

with a blank stare and staring at our family. it was good that the pointed that out. and it made us feel understood" >> in oaklandm haaziq madyun - kron 4 news >> gisele esteban's attorney never disputed that her client killed michelle le. but she said it was a crime of passion triggered by le's provocation. looking back at the history of the case, it's hard to find any support for that argument. this is where michelle le was last seen: kaiser permanente medical center in hayward. at seven pm on friday, may 28th, she grabs her cell phone, tells a friend she needs to get something from her car and heads to the garage. surveillance cameras show her car driving out of the garage, but not who is driving. le's white honda crv is found the next day, half a mile away on a cul de sac known as ponderosa court. le's family reports her missing and begins putting up fliers. her brother says she would never simply go away without telling anyone. >> "she's very responsible. she always calls me.

>> there is no evidence of foul play, but hayward police immediately begin a criminal investigation. their suspicions center on le's childhood friend,. they search giselle esteban's apartment on may 29th. on june second, she is interviewed as a "person of interest." after searching her home again on june sixth, they make this announcement: >> "the hayward police department is now officially classifying the case as a homicide." >> esteban remains out of sight. an ex-boyfriend describes her history of violent behavior. >> "she has a very short temper, and when she flies off the handle, she really flies off the handle." >> on september 7th, esteban is arrested. police say the surveillance cameras show esteban vehicle before and after it was in the hospital parking lot. that dna evidence proves esteban was inside le's car. and that gps tracking shows the both esteban's and le's cell phone took the same trip to the niles canyon/sunol area the night

le disappeared. 12 days later, michelle le's body is discovered in niles canyon. esteban's trial begins in early october and lasts four weeks. the jury takes four days to reach its verdict: guilty of first degree murder. michelle le's brother says he is relieved, >> this is the most appropriate punishment for her crime. >> police are describing the most recent murder as the part of a bizarre murder mystery the middle of a family neighborhood in portola. the man died from his injuries. the teenage woman. is fighting for her life right now. kron 4's justine waldman has the latest on the investigation. why someone would try to dispose of two bodies. in this portola valley neighborhood. is central to

the police investigation. at 8:30 on sunday night, police found the bodies of a 20- year old black man. and a 19-year old white female. bound, gagged and barely alive. in the middle of brussels street. >> >> part of the investigation is to determine. dumped there and left for dead that is what we are trying to find out exactly where this happened. >> both victims went to the hospital. the man died overnight. the female has life threatening injuries. police will not elaborate on their relationship. where they are from. or how they were hurt. only saying.the injuroes are severe. people in this residential neighborhood. are shaken up >> >> i don't want to leave my house alone. >> police are looking at surviellence videos, talking to witnesses and waiting fof the female victim to recover. so investigators can ask her what happened.in the meantime, anyone with information about this murder mystery. should contact police. in san francisco justine waldman kron 4 news.

>>pam: tonight a community mourns the life of a diablo valley college student who lost his life in a traffic collision. police are still investigating the accident that killed 21 year old scott hickerson. kron4's maureen kelly shows us what is known so far. >> i'm standing on the corner of monument blvd and erickson road.you can see behind me the memorial of flowers and signs and photos of the young man that marks the spot near where he was struck. people have left notes that read you will not be forgotten and skate in heaven.referring to the victim's love of skateboarding. police say scott hickerson was on his skateboard as he crossed the sidewalk right over there.at around 4:30 friday evening. he was in that crosswalk when he was hit by a suv driven by a 21 year old clayton woman traveling eastbound on monument blvd. the victim landed here in the intersection. he was transported to john muir hospital where he died of his injuries. police are

still talking to witnesses and are trying to determine who had the green light. although i spoke with a witness who did not want to appear on camera who says the driver ran the red light. police say the driver is cooperating and has not been charged with any crime at this point. they say there were no obvious signs that she was under the influence of drugs of alcohol although they are running testsand there is no evidence to suggest she was talking or texting on a cell phone. they say at this point it appears to be a tragic accident. maureen kelly kron4 news. >>pam: >>jacqueline: it was a gorgeous day. holiday shopping into a last- minute marathon. macy's is ready to cater to you. the department store chain for non-stop shopping, the
